Afridi charged over fan incident

Pakistan's Shahid Afridi has been charged by the International Cricket Council after appearing to push his bat at a spe
ctator against South Africa.

Afridi reacted to an alleged comment after being dismissed in the one-dayer.

ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed charged him with "conduct unbecoming... which could bring (players or officials) or the game into disrepute".

The level three offence can be punished with a ban of between two and four Tests or four to eight one-dayers.

But the 26-year-old is available to play until the hearing takes place.

He blasted 77 off only 35 balls in Durban as his team piled up 351-4 before winning the game by 141 runs to level the series 1-1.

Speed laid the charge after studying video footage of the incident while in the Caribbean, where he is attending a series of meetings ahead of next month's World Cup.
