Mohammad Yousuf hit a fine century and Shahid Afridi blasted 77 off only 35 balls as Pakistan amassed 351-4 in the second one-dayer against South Africa.
Afridi hit six sixes as he added 129 with Yousuf (101) off only 70 balls.
Earlier, Imran Nazir crashed 57 off 39 deliveries and Younis Khan made 93 as the home bowlers came in for punishment on a good batting surface in Durban.
Andre Nel conceded 82 in 10 overs and Makhaya Ntini went for 71 in nine but they will still fancy their chances.
After all, they compiled 392-6 in winning the opening game on Sunday and also hammered the tourists in the Twenty20 international.
This time it was their turn to suffer, however, with Nazir starting the onslaught by repeatedly dispatching the ball through the arc between square-leg and mid-on.
Charl Langeveldt ended the carnage with an lbw verdict and there was a definite change in the style of batting when Younis and Yousuf added 124 for the third wicket.
Younis played some imperious drives and Yousuf some sublime strokes through the cover region as the total went past 200 in the 33rd over.
The scoring slowed down after Younis holed out to long-on within striking of his third ODI century and the pressure told when skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq was run out looking for a risky single.
Afridi's arrival changed the atmosphere completely and it was not long before the ball was flying to all parts.
The bemused Nel was crashed over deep mid-wicket and long-on for sixes, while Langeveldt was swatted cheekily down the ground for two more maximums.
It was not all brute force - a startled Ntini was twice swept for boundaries as Afridi reached his fifty off just 20 balls.
Yousuf provided the perfect foil, picking up boundaries regularly with classy shots such as the three that came off Jacques Kallis over mid-wicket, long-off and backward square-leg.
The century partnership was brought up off only 53 balls and Afridi caused a delay when he hit Nel clean out of the ground.
Yousuf completed his 12th ODI century just before the end, with the second 50 arriving in only 35 deliveries.
Even though Langeveldt did well to keep the scoring down to four off the last over, his team-mates went off reeling from the force of Afridi's assault.
