Hopes' chances of a call-up depend on Watson's recovery
Australia have put Queensland all-rounder James Hopes on standby for their World Cup squad in case Shane Watson succumbs to his calf injury.

Watson was injured during Australia's Super 8 game against Bangladesh.

He may not be available for selection until the semi-finals on 24 and 25 April, assuming Australia get that far.

"The intention and the expectation is that Shane will recover and play a vital part in the World Cup," said chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch.
