Sri Lanka beat Bermuda by 243 runs in their Group B match in Trinidad, the second biggest margin of defeat in World Cup history. 
Sri Lanka blasted their way to 321-6 after electing to bat first, Kumar Sangakkara (76) and Mahela Jayawardene (85) posting 152 for the third wicket.
Chamara Silva also joined in the fun, hitting 55 not out from 45 balls.
Farveez Maharoof, who took 4-23, was destroyer-in-chief for Sri Lanka as Bermuda crumbled to 78 all out.
Only Lionel Cann, with a beligerent 28 from 31 balls, including one huge six off Muttiah Muralitharan, showed any resistance.
Captain Jayawardene had earlier announced a full-strength side, including veterans Chaminda Vaas and Muralitharan, for their Group B opener.
Bermuda's line-up included Glamorgan captain David Hemp, although there was no place for 17-year-old batsman Malachi Jones.
Opening bowler Keith Hurdle drew blood early on when he hit Sanath Jayasuriya on the finger off the fifth ball of the innings, which saw the veteran opener require physio treatment.
A flurry of wides then saw Hurdle take 14 balls to complete his second over, as openers Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga looked fairly comfortable against Bermuda's pace attack.
Burly spinner Dwayne Leverock's much-anticipated introduction into the attack came in the 21st over.
But the big jailer's left-arm spin looked easy pickings until Sangakkara holed out on the boundary at the start of his second spell.
Silva then got stuck into Leverock to leave him with figures of 1-67 from his 10 overs.
The rest of the attack was also expensive, although Hurdle - who spectacularly caught Jayawardene on the mid-wicket boundary - and medium-pacer Saleem Mukuddem both picked up two wickets.
It left Bermuda needing an improbable 6.44 runs an over to pull off an upset.
Clay Smith lasted five deliveries before being trapped lbw by Vaas, and Lasith Malinga's slingy action accounted for Mukuddem three overs later.
Malinga then removed two key men - Hemp and captain Irvine Romaine - and was unlucky to be denied a hat-trick after Janeiro Tucker survived a big shout for lbw.
Oliver Pitcher was bowled by Maharoof for six before Dean Minors feathered the same bowler behind to Sangakkara for four.
Muralitharan was then introduced, and he had Tucker playing on in his second over before Deloyne perished to Maharoof.
Cann and Hurdle had some fun at the death, Cann hitting Muralitharan for a huge six over the long-on fence and Hurdle smashing him over mid-wicket and out of the ground.
But Maharoof had Cann caught behind for a spirited 28 before Leverock was lbw to Muralitharan.
The biggest margin of defeat in World Cup history was Australia's 256-run win over Namibia in 2003.
