New Zealand batsman Lou Vincent will take no further part in the World Cup after breaking his wrist.

The opener was struck by a ball from team-mate Shane Bond during practice on Sunday and when he went to hospital, an X-ray revealed a clean break.

Hamish Marshall is to be called into the squad as a replacement for Vincent.

The Kiwis have been beset by injuries during the World Cup, and have already called paceman Chris Martin into their squad for the injured Daryl Tuffey.

Fellow paceman Mark Gillespie is yet to feature in this World Cup because of a shoulder problem caused by a viral infection.

That caused him to miss the group games, but he will resume full training on Monday.

Batsman Ross Taylor sustained a hamstring injury in the win over Kenya but will be given time to prove his fitness ahead of their opening Super 8 game against the West Indies in Antigua on Thursday.

He did not train with the squad on Sunday, and was restricted to pool and gym work.

Vincent made 101 in the Black Caps' third group game against Canada, having failed to score against both England and Kenya.

Marshall was expected to fly out of New Zealand on Monday to link up with the squad.

But as with Tuffey's replacement by Martin, the ICC will need to formally approve his replacement of Vincent.

"He knew straight away he was gone," team manager Lindsay Crocker said of Vincent's injury.

"It was a light session, the bowlers were only ambling in at medium pace really, not any nasty pace, and it was a misjudgment more than anything."
