England opener Andrew Strauss went to hospital for a scan after being clattered on the helmet by a Brett Lee bouncer on day three in Sydney.
Strauss was felled when he ducked into a short ball in the third over of England's second innings.
The ball struck him on the protective plastic covering his temple.
He was able to continue his innings after treatment from England physio Kirk Russell and was eventually out for 29, lbw to seam bowler Stuart Clark.
