England's new 34-year-old batsman Mal Loye says he received the worst barracking he had ever experienced in his one-day international debut.
Loye, who hit 36 in the Brisbane day-nighter on Friday told BBC Radio Five Live: "I have never been verbally abused like that my whole life.
"I can't repeat what they (Australian fans) said. I thought I was a reasonable bloke until yesterday."
Loye's score was the best by an England player in the match, which they lost.
Only Australia's Michael Hussey, with an unbeaten 46 occupying 73 balls - Loye made his score at a run a ball - produced a more profitabe innings in the match.
Loye, who started his career at Northants but now represents Lancashire, said it was a "compliment and a half" to hear some pundits describe his six off Brett Lee as the shot of the tournament.
The right-hander dropped onto his knee to slog sweep one of the world's fastest bowlers at the Gabba - a shot not normally seen anywhere in cricket.
"It's a calculated gamble," said Loye, describing his signature shot.
"You try and get used to the pitch and the bowlers - I'd not faced Lee before.
"Sometimes it doesn't come off and it's a shot you have to be 110% about and not be half-hearted with at all."
