New Zealand all-rounder Jacob Oram has recovered from a hamstring injury to face England in Adelaide on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, pace bowler Shane Bond will return from his back injury to play against Australia on 28 January.
Team manager Lindsay Crocker said of Bond: "What we need to do now is give him some light training, and tonight and tomorrow we'll assess how he goes."
Oram, 28, has taken 99 wickets in 87 ODIs and can also be a big hitter in the middle to late overs of an innings.
Another all-rounder, Scott Styris, pulled out of a provincial match in New Zealand on Friday with a strained calf muscle.
New Zealand are currently winless in the tri-nations CB Series, having lost matches to Australia and England in the Tasmanian capital Hobart.
