Worcestershire are considering their options after it was confirmed India paceman Zaheer Khan will not feature for the county in the 2007 season.
Zaheer, who took over 100 wickets in 2006, is back in the India fold and has the World Cup, plus tours to Bangladesh and England in his sights.
Director of cricket Steve Rhodes said discussions over new players had been held with skipper Vikram Solanki.
"We'll have the appropriate discussions with some of those players," he said.
Worcestershire chief executive Mark Newton earlier revealed that Australian seamer Nathan Bracken, who was originally set to join the county last season before an injury led to Zaheer's arrival, could be an option.
"Nathan is one we would consider. He is clearly a very good bowler, is performing well at the moment and we are delighted that he is interested but we have still to make a final decision on that," he said.
Zaheer, who took four wickets in the second innings of the final Test in South Africa, confirmed that he would like to return to New Road in the future.
"I really enjoyed playing with Worcestershire last season and thank them for the opportunity to help me regain my place in the Indian team," he said.
"I would love to play there again and would like to thank all the people involved, including the Members and Supporters, for their support throughout the season."
