South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs is appealing against his two-Test ban for making racist comments during the first Test against Pakistan.
Gibbs' words were picked up by a stump microphone and broadcast on television during day four at Centurion Park.
A Cricket South Africa hearing into the matter, to be headed by ex-Judge Mervyn King on Tuesday, has been postponed.
The comments were allegedly made after Protea fielder Paul Harris was verbally abused by members of the crowd.
A statement released by King said Gibbs would be assisted in his appeal by the South African Cricketers' Association.
It continued: "As the ICC findings and suspension have a bearing on CSA's disciplinary matter, I have postponed the hearing until after Herschelle Gibbs' appeal proceedings have been completed by the ICC", King said.
The ban would have automatically ruled Gibbs out of the second and third Tests against Pakistan.
But he is now likely to remain available for selection until his appeal is heard.
