KOLKATA: After making a strong comeback into the Test cricket arena on the tour to South Africa, former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly is expecting a recall to the one-day squad.
“I am expecting to get selected in the one-day side now,” Ganguly said after returning from South Africa where he emerged as the highest run-scorer for India with 214 runs from three Tests.
He has not played a One-day International (ODI) for the last 16 months. He last played an ODI against New Zealand in September 2005. Ganguly, whose unbeaten knock of 51 at Johannesburg laid foundation for India’s victory in the first Test, said the team lost a great opportunity to win the series against South Africa.
“It was a huge opportunity to win a series against South Africa at their home by winning the last Test, but unfortunately it could not happen,” he said. India lost the Test series 1-2 after taking the lead by winning the first Test.
