First test between Pakistan, S Africa tomorrow

CENTURION: The first Test of a three-match series between Pakistan and South Africa starting here from tomorrow (Thursday).

Pakistan, already with five fast bowlers in their squad, added a sixth Shoaib Akhtar as cover for Umar Gul, who suffered with an ankle injury during the team's warm-up match against the Rest of South Africa at the weekend.

Akhtar’s expected return to the Pakistan team was delayed on Tuesday after he failed to find a flight to South Africa in time for the first Test match.

Pakistan will be without star batsman Mohammad Yousuf, who is in Pakistan with his ill wife, who is expecting a baby soon, and all-rounder Shoaib Malik, who is injured.
