Several Pakistani cricketers to perform Haj

KARACHI: Pakistan’s celebrated middle-order batsman Mohammad Yousuf along with swashbuckling all-rounder Shahid Afridi on Tuesday left for Saudi Arabia to perform Haj. Yousuf who turned Muslim last year from Christianity will be offering his first Haj. The growing inclination of Pakistani cricketers towards religion has led to an increased number of former and present players leaving for Haj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. While Afridi and Yousuf left for Jeddah on Tuesday, former cricketers Rashid Latif and Jalaluddin had already gone for the holy trip. Many of them left after playing in the domestic Twenty-20 competition.
