One-day international, The Grange: Scotland v Pakistan Match abandoned because of rainScotland suffered disappointment for the second time in three years when their one-day international against Pakistan was washed out by rain.
The umpires decided no play would be possible in the early afternoon after a second downpour in Edinburgh.
Two years ago Scotland's match against Australia suffered a similar fate.
"We were expecting a crowd of between 1,000 and 1,500, but our big game this summer is against India on 16 August," said Cricket Scotland's Roddy Smith.
"It's disappointing to lose the chance to play against a full member country, but the game was insured so no-one will lose out."
In 2005, a 4,500 sell-out crowd had to wait five months for the insurance company to pay up so Cricket Scotland could refund their money.
This time, however, chief executive Smith is hopeful the wait will not be as long.
"We'll do everything we can to get their money back as soon as possible," he told BBC Sport.
The Scots, meanwhile, are now hoping for better weather when Pakistan face India at Titwood on Tuesday.
