England have dropped Monty Panesar and Liam Plunkett for Wednesday's second one-day series match against West Indies at Edgbaston.
Michael Yardy replaces spinner Panesar as England seek to boost their batting.
Ryan Sidebottom, who missed the opening 79-run victory at Lord's with a viral infection, takes Plunkett's place.
West Indies will move their leading batsman Shiv Chanderpaul up the order as they seek to prevent England clinching the best-of-three series.
Sidebottom was a surprise inclusion in the England team for the second Test against the Windies, having played only one previous Test in 2001, but took his chance superbly with eight wickets in the match.
He took three more wickets in the next game at Old Trafford, followed by his first five-wicket Test haul in the final match of the series at the Riverside.
The 29-year-old left-arm seamer also took three wickets in the two Twenty20 matches before succumbing to his illness.
Plunkett has been criticised for his wayward bowling and was dropped from the side after the third Test.
But he won a recall to the squad and impressed in the opening game of the 50-over series.
Another of England's young talents, Stuart Broad, who has just turned 21, was even more impressive, claiming his best international figures to date with 3-20 from nine overs, with 24-year-old James Anderson notching 2-23.
Meanwhile, Ian Bell has vowed to emulate the style of Australia captain Ricky Ponting as he continues his quest to cement a place in the one-day side.
"When he gets in he converts his scores into hundreds and that's something I want to achieve, to turn all my fifties into hundreds," said Bell, who has 11 half centuries but has yet to reach three figures in 45 one-day internationals.
"He certainly has a way of playing in one-day cricket. He doesn't go out and slog, he plays proper shots and doesn't always go at it from ball one.
"He's cool, he's calm and he plays a role where he's always in control. That's something I'd admire about him and like to bring into my game."
West Indies star Chanderpaul batted for more than 24 hours during the four-Test series, which the Windies lost 3-0, scoring 446 runs at number five.
He continued his impressive form in the first one-day match at Lord's but ran out of partners, prompting plans for a reshuffle.
"It is something that is definitely going to happen but we haven't decided where as yet," Gayle said.
"We are still in discussion. But Shiv will go higher up. We went back to the drawing board and tried to see where it went wrong at Lord's.
"We know where it went wrong with the batting and hopefully the guys can come better prepared next time.
"Shiv was the only batter who got a start and carried on. We put him at number five as a left-hander to combat Monty Panesar but this way we can maybe utilise him for more overs."
