PERTH: Pakistan defeated Australia 4-3 to win the tri-series hockey tournament in Perth on Wednesday.
Sohail Abbas, Shakeel Abbasi, Imran and Tauseef scored a goal each for Pakistan.
President Asif Zardari congratulated the team on winning the final.
Pakistan had earlier lost both matches to the hosts while recording two draws with India and qualified for the final on account of a better goal difference.
BURNBURY: India came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Pakistan but missed the bus for the final of the tri-nation hockey tournament on Tuesday.
Pakistan set up the title clash against Australia on the virtue of a better goal difference.
Pakistan will now play Australia in the finals in Perth on Thursday. The score between Pakistan and India was 1-1 in the semi-final.
India, which needed an outright win to qualify for the final, will play for bronze medal against Australia A.
Pakistan had a goal difference of minus six compared to Indian's minus eight to make it to the final.
