Srilanka-The Winner

Andrew Flintoff and Ricky Ponting at the toss, Australia v England, 6th match, Champions Trophy, Jaipur, October 21, 2006
Srilanka Won the match played yesterday against Newzealand. As i said in the last post, the pitch really had nothing bad for the batsmen but the brialliant bowling by Srilanka contained Kiwiz to 165.Newzealand won the toss and decided to bat first, and were bowled out at 165 runs.Muralitharan,as expected was the key player behind this performance. He got 4 wickets giving 22 runs in 10 overs. Srilanka,In reply, played very well and chased that target with the loss od only 3 wickets winning the match by 7 wickets. The situation in Group:B is very dramatic now and i think the selection of two semi-finalist teams is going to be very very tough. We are having a match from group:A between Australia Vs England. The match is evenly important for both the countries as they already have lost there first match to WestIndies and Insia respectively.Any team loosing this match will have there tickets booked before his last match. Australia Won the toss deciding to field first.England in turn are going good and the situation at the moment is
  • 98/2
  • Overs:22
  • Andrew Strauss:37*
  • Andrew Flintoff:2*
  • Run rate:4.5/Over
